She was recently named as Football Focus’s first female presenter and has also been co-hosting The One Show.

So it was no wonder Alex Scott had a giant smile on her face as she left the BBC studios in London on Tuesday.

Clad in an all-blue ensemble, the 36-year-old football pundit looked effortlessly stylish as she made her way home.

Showcasing her athletic frame, Alex slipped into a figure-hugging knitted midi dress with flattering contrasting shades of blue.

Flashing a hint of leg, the former Strictly star boosted her frame with a pair of nude court heels, while she layered up with a cropped denim jacket.

Alex completed the look by styling her glossy raven locks in loose curls and painting her face with a neutral makeup palette that accentuated her natural beauty.

While Alex has spent the week co-hosting The One Show alongside Alex Jones, she will soon be turning her attention to weekend telly, as the new lead presenter of Football Focus.

The former England and Arsenal defender will succeed Dan Walker, who is stepping down in May after 12 years on the show.

Alex has been a regular on the show since she retired as a player in 2018 and has recently fronted the BBC’s coverage of England Women matches.

The athlete also has presenting experience from co-hosting, Sport Relief, Children in Need, Sports Personality of the Year and Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday.

However, the talented star still came under fire when news first broke of her appointment, with sexist remarks sent to her online.

In light of the backlash, the former England star was quickly supported by her peers in the industry who have worked alongside her during punditry and analyst duties.

Match Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: ‘With 140 @englandlioness caps and about 350 trophies in the cabinet, I reckon you’ll do brilliantly.’

Meanwhile, Sportsmail columnist Chris Sutton, who works with Alex at the BBC, described her as a great presenter.

Chris said: ‘The BBC haven’t confirmed Alex’s appointment, but already we’ve seen an unfortunate social media backlash.

‘It doesn’t matter whether you’re male, female, have zero England caps or 100-odd. If you’re a great presenter then that’s all that matters, and Alex definitely falls into that category. If Alex gets the gig, then she gets it on merit.’
